Gramastetten
The "Jahresstiege" in Gramastetten is a popular hiking trail with around 365 granite steps leading through the forest up to a viewing platform. From there, you can enjoy a sweeping view of the Rodltal valley and the surrounding countryside. A wonderful outing for anyone who wants to combine exercise with nature and beautiful views.
Gramastetten / Burenkogel
The "Burenkogel" is the oldest climbing garden in the Rodltal valley. People have been climbing here for over 70 years. In addition to the south face climbs, the two hook-climbing routes “Koni-Kante” and “Via Böhme” were among the most popular routes at the time.
Mühlviertler Granitland
Granitland is one of Europe's largest mountain biking regions, offering an extensive network of trails for all levels of ability. Seventeen selected routes cover around 950 kilometers through the characteristic granite landscape with varied climbs, trails, and descents.
Breitenstein
At the Breitenstein Archery Center, three courses with over 80 stations and numerous 3D animal targets invite you to actively explore the grounds. From easy to challenging routes, both beginners and professionals will find exciting challenges in archery surrounded by beautiful nature.
Gramastetten
The "Rodl-Waldbad" invites you to relax and unwind surrounded by nature. A well-maintained sunbathing lawn, a small buffet, changing rooms and showers, as well as a play area and a paddling pool for children ensure enjoyable days spent swimming. Admission is free.
Ottensheim
The "Donaubus" offers a relaxed way to travel between Ottensheim and Linz Urfahr across the Danube. The journey is straightforward and offers families in particular a varied opportunity to experience the river from a different perspective.
Bad Mühllacken
Just a few kilometers away, in Bad Mühllacken, lies the Pesenbach Valley—a natural paradise with a long tradition of healing. Under the motto “Paths to Healing,” it invites visitors to learn about Kneipp's teachings and discover places of power and worship. In 2019, the Pesenbach Valley was named the most beautiful place in Upper Austria (9 places – 9 treasures).
Kleinzell im Mühlkreis
The lake is known for its deep green water, which is up to 20 meters deep, and is regularly tested for excellent quality. The high, rugged stone walls of the former quarry surround the lake and provide both shade and natural diving platforms. Admission is free, and the lake serves as a popular recreational area for locals and tourists alike.

Rodltal
The "Große Rodlrunde" trail can be easily accessed directly from the cabins. First, follow the access road towards Rottenegg to Rodlstraße 54, the house with the blue roof. After crossing the bridge, the trail continues to the left towards Gramastetten on hiking trail 190. Along the babbling Große Rodl, you walk through the peaceful Rodltal valley before crossing another bridge and returning to the cabins via the road towards Rottenegg.
Walding
The Walding Zoo, just 5 km from the Rodltal valley, has been a popular destination for nature lovers, animal lovers, and families with children for many years. Visitors can observe animals from lions to domestic cats up close. The new “Bimbi-Land” offers children opportunities to play and exercise while adults relax.
Linz
Starting at the main square, guests can see and enjoy the most beautiful sights of Linz on the slow train, which offers commentary in eight languages! During a leisurely 25-minute city tour, passengers get an overview of the places worth seeing in Linz.
Feldkirchen
There are four swimming lakes near Feldkirchen, offering a wide range of leisure activities. Water skiing, wakeboarding, an aqua park, and diving opportunities provide variety on the water, while a motor skills park, pump track, golf course, and outdoor fitness facilities allow for exercise and play. It is a place for active days and relaxing hours alike.
Rottenegg
Just 2 km away, "Bauernstub'n Rottenegg" offers regional food directly from local producers. The self-service local supplier is open 7 days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. – ideal for fresh shopping at any time.

Just a few hundred meters from the vacation homes (Rodltal 34, 4111 Walding), our guests can purchase high-quality, natural honey directly from regional beekeepers. The Rodltal apiary stands for regional, gently processed products from natural beekeeping. The honey is available 24/7 via a self-service box – conveniently payable in cash or by card.
